In case you are buying a brand new car, here are some inferences and rankings that don’t matter or mean anything. Go to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for info since I’m not going to even pretend these are worth more than a quick glance over and a quarter thought. Not here anyways.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Im going to save you some time and stress, Lurkers . Buy whatever you want! Stop binge watching and reading reviews for every car in the segment that no actually cross-shops anways. Go poke at and drive whatever you like and find out for yourself if it’s worth it to you . We have endless lurkers and contributors here and everyone is afraid to buy whatever they love. This is Oppo, owning a car you love is the only thing that matters.

I don’t care if we bash that car, we will support the suspenders off you when you buy anything you’re excited about. It’s all about you and how you feel about it! This coming from a far too proud Kia Amanti owner. No one is leaving steering columns or early 2000s Bentley/Mercedes/Jaguar/Lincoln sedan pictures on my homepage. Well, not at the moment anyways...

When it comes to cars, if they dont move you then dont own them! Keep it simple and find something that  makes you happy and keeps you happy. If it does both then congrats on being a first class opponaunt. We can now start convincing you why a 2JZ swapped, manual Previa is the midengined minivan you never knew you needed.

Looking at those charts:

Nobody wants a Buick - boo

But they’re so dependable - yay!

But the initial quality is meh - huh

I’M SO CONFLICTED!!!!

also, I turned in a JD Power survey after we purchased our Tahoe. Nearly 3/4 of the 100+ questions were about Apple car play.

F JD power

I support your support of “buy whatever you want.”

The one conclusive result here appears to be Fiat...

I’m surprised at the high Dependability from BMW.

You realize that Honda reliability is behind Chevrolet now. While Buick and Toyota are about tied. Talk about an upset!

Everything is explainable:

Old people buy Buicks.

Old people can’t figure out how to play Dolly Parton and Wayne Newton on the stereo in their new Buick.

They then take it back to the dealer, which counts as an “Initial Quality Problem”.

They don’t have problems after that as long as none of their damn kids change the settings on the stereo.

They try to get them through initial warranty before they start giving trouble...

“The Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) examines issues reported by original owners of 3-year-old vehicles. This study measures car reliability by analyzing problems experienced over the past 12 months of ownership in such areas as: features and controls; engine and transmission;entertainment and navigation; heating and cooling; the overall driving experience, and more.”

Yeah, Lexus and Toyota are getting destroyed right now. They used to be top 1/2 every year for a decade. It looks like they’re still up there for the dependability portion, but the IQS and APEAL are lagging behind.

I mean, HOW is that possible? Do people who purchase Chrysler vehicles have such low expectations that they don’t complain about anything unless it physically falls off the car?
